The Programme for the conference is not expected to be ready until late spring. However, we are please to confirm some of the social events and technical/cultural tours.
For those of you able to join us on the sunday evening before the start of the conference we are planning a drinks and early registration session in the 'Staff Common Room'.
With a welcome drink and then bar facilities available this offers a unique oppotunity to get to know your fellow deligates or catch up with colleagues you have not seen in a while,.
We will also offer the chance of early registration meaning you can join the workshops immediately on the monday morning.
We are going to hold our Confernce Opening Dinner on Monday evening in the Venue@DMU, Western Boulevard, Leicester. This historical building has been updated for a modern university and provides excellent dining and social space.
Join us on a tour of the historic Abbey Pumping Station which holds four massive beam engines. The pumping station orginally built in 1891 pumped sewage to a 'new' water treatment works. The engines were last in use in 1964, but we will leave the rest for the tour.
With exclusive access you will also be able to explore the main exhibition galleries which include victorian toilets, roman water pipes and a working water pump powered by a paraffin engine.
The pumping station is only a short walk to the conference dinner venue.
Join us at the National Space Centre for welcoming coctails under Rockets, then enjoy a three course meal. Those attending the dinner will also haveexclusive access to the venue and the planaterium experience.
This will also be the location for the conference awards.
Transportation to and from the campus will be provided.
